Maritime Services
There are different type of communication devices installed in the vessels and Maritime Stations to ensure the safe movement of vessels by providing signals or messages relating to distress urgency safety etc.
Most of these communication devices operate in international bands while individual frequencies assignment or private channels are used for private communication purpose.
All these radio communication equipment on board or at stations must hold a valid licence to operate such equipment.
Maritime Mobile services
All the Communication devices at Ports, Coast Stations , Shore Stations etc and vessels, boats, trawlers etc. must have appropriate licence to operate such devices with the relevant frequencies.

Ship Staion
Any ship like to be registered under Sri Lankan Flag should obtain the call sign & Maritime Mobile Licence.
