PUBLIC NOTICE Renewal of the Licence of Tata Communications Lanka Limited The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) (“the Commission”) was established under the Telecommunications (Amendment) Act No. 27 of 1996 and is responsible for regulating the telecommunications sector and managing the radio frequency spectrum in Sri Lanka. Tata Communications Lanka Limited has applied for a non-facility based Licence under Section 17 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act, No. 25 of 1991 as amended by Act No 27 of 1996 (“the Act’) to operate a telecommunications system to provide Internet Services in Sri Lanka in pursuance of the requirements set out in the Guidelines and Procedures for issuing, renewal and modification of Licence under the Act, published in Gazette No. 1435/20 dated 10.03.2006. Therefore, the public is hereby noticed under Section 17 (3) (a) of the Act that the Commission is considering to recommend to H.E The President ,the Renewal of the Licence issued to Tata Communications Lanka Limited for a another period of five years subject to such terms and conditions as may be imposed by the Commission upon the consideration of the representations / objections of the public / industry. The public is hereby further noticed that representation or objection to the grant of licence to Tata Communications Lanka Limited could be made not later than 10.02.2021The representations and objections should be in writing and addressed to Director General, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka. A draft of the proposed license is available to the public on the Commission’s official web site, www.trc.gov.lk. By order of the Commission
