Three Day Symposium on Cloud Computing Open From 28th - 30th July
A three-day Symposium on Cloud Computing organized by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) opens at Hotel Taj Samudra this (28th July) morning.
Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, Mr. Sameer Sharma, Senior Advisor, International Telecommunications Union Regional Office for Asia-Pacific, Dr. Ruen He, France Telecom Orange, Mr. Yogesh Jiandani, CTO, GSP India and SAARC are among those scheduled to address the event.
Director-General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka, Mr. M.M. Zuhair, P.C. will inaugurate the Symposium, followed by the key-note speech by ITU, Senior Advisor, Mr. Sameer Sharma.
Among the subjects for discussion are cloud computing as a new technology, development of smart cities, optimizing bus routes, time table, traffic light systems, data for medical research, accessing crop prices, farmers connectivity to agricultural experts, cloud computing for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and related regulatory issues etc.
Top officers of the TRCSL will participate in the Symposium from 28th – 30th July. Mr. Mohan Jayasekera, Director, Policy & International Relations and License Administration is co-ordinating this event.
